"Diving is the most fabulous distraction you can experience"....Jacques Cousteau Time Mar 28 1960.

Scuba diving means different things to different people. For some, it is diving in tropical locations seeing exotic species of marine life, for others it may be exploring shipwrecks or people may take an active interest in the marine environment.

Bury Sub Aqua Club caters for different diving tastes, and experience levels with a full and varied training programme and dive trip calendar. We dive mainly in the UK, but also run trips overseas. Trips to St Abbs in Scotland provide clear water, beautiful reefs strewn with life, and a wide variety of underwater life such as octopus and even guilimots (birds) swimming underwater at 10m. At the Farne Isles we have been fortunate to dive with seals. In 2003 members had an encounter with killer whales in Scapa Flow. Further afield we have dived in Cyprus on the giant wreck of the Zenobia, a number of trips to the Red Sea and have also been to Kenya. We have also dived the largest wreck in Europe off the southern coast of Ireland. Club members have a wealth of diving experience including The Barrier Reef Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Saudi Arabia. As well as the wide range of excellent diving in the UK Scapa Flow, Oban, Skye, The Western Isles, The Scily Isles, The Farne Isles, Plymouth, The Lizard peninsular, The Isle of Man, Weymouth, Liverpool Bay, Anglesey and Capenwray.
