Wednesday night dawned as I retired to bed at 6.30pm with paracetamol, come Friday I couldn't see and my nose was non-functional. Typical! another dive trip with good forecast and I'm incapacitated.

The Jones Slade navigating was spot on as we were greeted with a warm welcome by the landlady. Having retreated into the Pub (opposite!!) I began to treat my cold with copious amounts of Gin. By 11pm all were assembled and looking forward to our 1st dive on the Somalia.

Come silly o'clock and we rocked non too gently over the shot managing to keep out breakfast down. Some with more success than others. Diving as a loose four as both myself and Slady were not to sure about our ears, we hit the water.

I then took 22minutes to equalize and finally landed on the boilers, this coincided nicely with everyone else returning to the shot! After a leisurely surface interval featuring a power nap we ventured out again. The evening flew by with Mike passing out through starvation in the delay between ordering and eating tea.

Sunday had us out by Whirl rock with Baaarbara in tow in excellent visibility but slightly damp weather. Underwater topography was breathtaking with dead mans fingers and anemones everywhere. We even spotted an octopus amongst the creels although for an intelligent animal it seemed tobe having problems getting out? Perhaps those silly creatures poking it made it decide it was better where it was?

Another excellent Shmitt/Hind production.
