Thanks to Jeff Owen for organising a great weekend's diving in St Abbs. Tell us who let you know which would be the best weekend to go, Jeff. Did you order the weather before or after you'd fixed the date? We all had much more colour in our cheeks - and in some cases on tops of heads - by Saturday evening. The weather was so good that another successful barbecue was held on the beach on the Saturday night. That's the second consecutive year.

We had a great weekend. Shore diving, boat diving, finding Cathedral Rock (with deadman's fingers, starfish and urchins galore), not finding the wreck - but the less said about that, the better, seeing 'Wolfie', an octopus and all the usual fish. Couldn't believe the shore dive was only my second dive since 30.08.98 (Porthkerris) and the boat dive was my first boat dive since then. All in all, a great weekend to get back into it!!

St. Abboration!

Well, you choose, St. Abbs, Red Sea, St. Abbs , Red Sea, St. Abbs Red Sea. Of Course, St. Abbs wins every time! What does the Red Sea have that St Abbs doesn't apart from a few thousand Egyptians. Perhaps maybe some fish! But apart from the Egyptians it has everything, even coral and great visibility.

Our weekend was a great success, everybody satisfied and the diving was good too! Woolfy was out to greet his peculiar bubbly friends and his mate the wrasse got married. For those who didn't see there was Mr. And Mrs. Wrasse guarding the entrance to Wolfy's cave and one of them looked decidedly smug!

Of course we all know that the highlight of the trip was to see Neil get his neck fixed, but did he have to do a banana slip of the concrete slipway and break a rib in the process. Don't worry D.O. Not the one you towed. I wonder if that when his back gets better his neck will go into decline, well we'll see. As Neil lay awounded and awinded on the floor and couldn't speak, it was nice to see Slady offer the kiss of life whilst gently cradling his head in his hand. Needless to say Neil made a quick manouver, was soon on his feet and didn't miss a dive. Strong stuff these 40's babes!

Anyway the night life was cool, the drinks flowing, the dancin hot, the disco....well you cann't have everything can you? The brave hearted opted for a BarBeQue and they saw some seals on the beach yes they did they did!! The softies opted for a nice meal in a nice restaurant where it was warm and cosy and who do we have to thank for all this, why Jeff alias Bubbles, of course. So Ta Jeff for a great weekend.
