Duck collecting as part of the duck race
For the second year running divers from Bury Sub-Aqua Club provided in-water safety cover and collected the winning ducks and boats from the four races organised by the Rotary Club on 13 April during the Choc Fest weekend in nearby Ramsbottom. Mike L, Mike C, James, Lynda and Wayne braved the River Irwell in shifts for each of the four races, Neil 'skippered' Orange Peel, Evelyn ran two rescue scenarios to encourage youngsters to have a go on the ResusciAnns, whilst Elaine and Hilary provided information about Bury SAC and the BSAC. There was a follow-up article in a newly-introduced free local news sheet, along with a free competition for a try-dive.
